I used to listen to country music when I was young And I loved the sweet melodies and the sad songs they sung There were men with big voices, women who sang great songs And they knew how to break your heart, while you hummed along So Country Music Jesus save us from our sins I want to hear a sweet melody on the radio again Cause I know you’re still out there, I can’t believe that you’re gone Country Music Jesus sing me, a sweet country song I used to listen to stories about cowards and fools And men who made their way just outside of the rules Love was gained and love was lost, someone did someone wrong But love came back again on the very next song So Country music Jesus where have you been I want here a sweet melody on the jukebox again Cause I still hear voices, Oh tell me I’m wrong Country Music Jesus sing me a sweet country song Now I ain’t saying that we need to go back to the past And copy what the masters have done Ah but there is something about today’s country music Well, it just isn’t that fun Now I ain’t got nothing against, beer or trucks or America or being with your baby on a Friday But something seems wrong That all we get are these stereotypes instead of real country songs So Country Music Jesus save us from our sins I want to hear a sweet melody, just one more time again Take your truck into Nashville and tell them they got it all wrong Country music Jesus sing me a sweet country song Cause someday you’ll take Willie and George Jones is gone Country Music Jesus sing me a real country song

Don't Ask Me 03:52
I thought I'd get rich selling stocks and bonds It was the internet, the great long con Where the road up goes up forever And the party never ends I didn't know whether the hustle Or whether to hide And we went broke My baby cried and I said just who in the hell do you think that I am So don't ask me, where I'm going I ain't been there so I don't know All that 's ending is me pretending That I am someone that I don't know Things hit bottom in March of 09 People were pointing fingers instead catching crime Like throwing all them basterds that did this all into jail Me I sold insurance to pay the bills The 9-5 grind you know the one that kills Where just getting by, feels just like hell So don't ask me, where I'm going I ain't been there so I don't know All that 's ending is me pretending That I am someone that I don't know The stock market got better but the people stayed poor except for those They got a little more And the politicians they paid to get there All acted like kids Me I gave it up Yeah I grabbed my guitar I was hoping I could make it or at least get far enough away from who I was and all that I did So don't ask me, where I'm going I ain't been there so I don't know All that 's ending is me pretending That I am someone that I don't know No, I ain't someone that I don't know

Here comes this kid from Wisconsin nobody has ever even heard his stuff He gets that job with the star on his hat and they say he ain’t good enough He gets knocked down and gets back almost every single time I’m going to sing a song about him if you don’t mind So I tip my hat to a heck of a man, not everbody get criticitized for doing the best they can I don’t care what the people say those guys are big that ground ain’t soft The man’s name is Tony Romo, if you don’t like him you can go shove off He has to play with giants, big and mean and they’d just as soon as take his head He’s got to stay smart when they knock him around and the people want him dead There’s times he disappointed like the Detroit or Thanksgiving with Green Bay But I remember that time in San Francisco he saved the day So I tip my hat to heck up a guy who gets up when others might just lay there and die Getting hit ain’t easy, cause man that ground ain’t soft The man is named Tony Romo, and if you don’t like him you just shove off Lots of people say that the measure of a man is giving it all he’s got Staying in there and taking your licks while people take their shots Well here’s a man who gets back up no matter how hard the fall And I don’t care what the rulebook says Dez Bryant, he caught the ball So I tip my hat to a heck of a man, who no one say that he ain’t giving it all he can He has earned my respect cause man that ground ain’t soft Yes that man is named Tony Romo, and if you don’t like him you can just shove off Yes that man is named Tony Romo, and if you don’t like him you can just shove off

Blood 03:12
Blood Down at the bottom of a deep dark hole Lost some self and found some soul I bottomed out a creature with no face I dream of the smile of the sweet sunshine And leaving this darkness far behind When winter’s gone I’ll find her in her place Shaken like a leaf on a tree The more that’s less that’s most of me I’ll follow them train tracks on to the sea Jester he is laughing a digging down Wearing his grin just like a frown He ain’t gonna stop until I’m under ground It’s ten more miles through the sticks and mud It’s coming up over me like a drug I ain’t stopping until I hit Blood Sunrise breaks the dawn The world keeps moving so I’m shuffling on I got to keep going until it’s all gone Everywhere I look I turn to see A jester digging a hole for me I got to keep moving to be free It’s ten more miles throught the sticks and mud It’s coming up over me like a drug I ain’t stopping until I hit blood Not even my hands could hold me Not even my mama told me Not even my hands could hold down Down at the bottom of a hole Face and soul I ain’t got no face I dream I see sweet sunshine And darkness far behind I’ll find her in her. It’s ten more miles through the sticks and mud It’s coming up over me like a drug I ain’t stopping til I hit blood It’s ten, It’s sticks and mud It’s coming just like a drug No I ain’t stoppping til I hit blood

We went down by the water, looking longingly holding hands Talking about a future, we couldn’t possibly understand Like where your life is headed and where you want to go All the things she’ll say yes to and and the ways you’ll say no It’s not very subtle, it’s a push then a shove You never see it coming when you’re young and dumb in love Things don’t always work out and that is just how it goes Sometimes you’re the last to figure out, what everybody already knows Ain’t always pretty like a picture, don’t always fit like a glove You do your best to ignore it, when you’re young and dumb in love We walked and talked for hours and little things start to appear That in moment seem so blurry but right now are so clear Things don’t always work out and that is just how it goes Sometimes you’re the last to figure out, what everybody already knows Ain’t pretty like a picture, don’t fit like a glove You do your best to ignore it, when you’re young and dumb in love And someday it will all make sense and someday all the pieces fit Someday…. just not now We went right up to the water, danced along the edge And the ocean was a great abyss and the sand a window ledge Then she talks about children, ones she might or might not have The future is certain and we fall off into the sand No, it’s not like a story witha voice from above It’s just how it happens when you’re young and dumb in love It’s just how it happens when you’re young and dumb in love

Halloween 03:49
I brought the kids to our old place, and they had their costumes on it brought a smile to my face Well I never handed out candy at our place before But there is your brand new boyfriend there at our front door And I can’t say that I got something against this dude But to be right here, right now well it seems a might rude I said What I ever do to you to make you act so mean Why is your boyfriend here with us tonight on Halloween Are trying to make me red with angry or with envy turn me green Why’s boyfriend handing candy out from our house on Halloween Well I keep it together cause the kids are right there But what you are doing now,, it just ain’t fair I thought that tonight would be just about the kids Not you taking shots at me for things you thought I never did And I can’t say what to do or how to live you life But what you’re doing now, no, it just ain’t right Said What I ever do to you to make you act so mean Why is your boyfriend handing candy out on Halloween You trying to make me angry trying to cause a big scene Why’s your boyfriend handing candy out on Halloween And when we were together, you know how hard I tried And I still don’t understand how this love inside us died But it seems you want to hurt me again and again and again Though we may be over well this heartache it never ends No the pain you cause me, no it never ends What’s your boyfriend doing here on Halloween Are you tryng to make me angry trying to cause a big scene Why must you always act like you were fourteen Why’s your boyfriend handing candy out on Halloween I don’t know what I ever did to make you act so mean Why’s your boyfriend handing candy out on Halloween Well it seems you want to hurt me so why don’t you come clean Why’s your boyfriend handing candy out from our house on Halloween Why’s your boyfriend handing candy out from our house on Halloween Why’s your boyfriend handing candy out from our house on Halloween
