about

As a parent of two small children and a former first grade teacher, the events that occurred in Newtown CN have left an indelible mark on me. So in an effort to cope with and process the events of that day I have written a song about it from the perspective that I can relate with, that of one of the parents. My hope is that this song will help with the healing process. Often forgotten until a tragedy like this happens are the teachers who give so much of themselves. To honor these often forgotten heroes, all proceeds minus processing fees will go to donorchoose.org, a site that funds teacher projects around the country.

lyrics

Until we hug again, I'll say
I look forward to the day
My heart is heavy knowing that you're gone
Even if it was tomorrow, it still would be too long
Because I am dying here with out you tonight
Until I hear your voice again I'll wait
How can there be any kindness in this fate
What could ever balance something that's so wrong
And what's the difference now that you are gone
Because I am dying here without you tonight
Let something come from this
God, let something come from this
How did it ever come to this
Let something come from this
Until I see your face again I'll stay
God grant me some deeper grace for treating me this way
My heart is broken what am I do?
My thoughts are drowning in memories of you
I am going on but how can that be right
Because I dying here without you tonight.
